Community Support Fund 2011-2012
In October, the area of Melaque was struck by devastating Hurricane Jova.
Our crew went out with some 70 dispensas (food parcels) for the needy to help with this immediate need.
On December 13th we went with the DIF social workers to distribute another 40 dispensas in the Cihuatlan area, where they experienced extensive damage due to the hurricane. We received many smiles, thank-you's, hugs and "God bless you's".
On January 13th we drove further into the hills and again saw the devastation of the hurricane. 78 gift bags of school supplies and boxes of classroom supplies were given to the children and teachers of 3 schools. The children sang for us and one of the schools served us lunch.
January 20th we gave the teachers at our "adopted school" in Pinal villa $1500 pesos for classroom supplies and gift bags with school supplies for the 65 students.
On February 17th Pastor Ron accompanied us along with Kenia, the DIF social worker, to deliver clothing and some food items.
On March 22nd we delivered the balance of 58 school supply gift bags to 3 additional schools.
March 24th and 29th, in time for Easter, we distributed another 78 despensas and clothing to a very needy group of indigenous field workers and to those in need living around our church area.
Thank-you to all who have so generously donated time and funds to keep the Community Support Fund working.
